Roadmap

Suggest and vote on the next features that you would like to have in feedly Pro

I suggest you ...

You've used all your votes and won't be able to post a new idea, but you can still search and comment on existing ideas.

There are two ways to get more votes:

  • When an admin closes an idea you've voted on, you'll get your votes back from that idea.
  • You can remove your votes from an open idea you support.
  • To see ideas you have already voted on, select the "My feedback" filter and select "My open ideas".
(thinking…)

Enter your idea and we'll search to see if someone has already suggested it.

If a similar idea already exists, you can support and comment on it.

If it doesn't exist, you can post your idea so others can support it.

Enter your idea and we'll search to see if someone has already suggested it.

  1. Merge duplicated articles and show them as one

When subscribing to different similar (but yet unique) feeds (i.e TechCrunch, AllThingsD, Arc-Technica, etc..) 40% of the feeds are identical, and there is tons of duplications. If there could be an option to merge same articles based on title, publishing date, keywords (All combined or something like that) and to see only one article in some way - That would be the feature of the century! No one has it, Why should you be the first?

    • Offline: Caching articles for offline reading

// Note from feedly: see comments below for status. -Remi

Add ability to select and cache articles for offline reading (while communing, etc.) in the mobile app. The App would sync any read articles, changes to "Saved for Later" flags, etc. when the internet connection is restored.

(And yes, I know that I can read articles offline using "partner" apps, but this is still a desired feature for feedly Pro itself).

      • Enable a per-feed setting to load the full article

I would like to read full articles in Feedly, not just snippets. 3rd party apps like greader have a setting to automatically fetch the full article. I'd like to see the same in Feedly.

          Hi everyone,
On scraping full content form partial feeds, this is a topic on which we’ve historically been in favor of respecting the publisher’s decision to showcase either a full or a partial feed. The content they publish via their feeds is theirs, and it should be up to them to decide how it gets distributed. That being said, an important part of our work is to work with publishers, and find ways that are best & sustainable for them to publish their content.
If there are specific feeds you follow that are partial and you would like to see fully in feedly, please let us know via pro email support and we will reach out to the publisher. Please mention the feed URL in your message.
          Hope this clarifies,
          -Remi

        • Background sync for iOS

Enable background app refresh on iOS7 apps to allow me to always have the latest content available to me in feedly when, for instance, I'm reading on the subway.

          • Add a Twitter client

I've been looking for a Twitter client that syncs across devices with an unread count - basically an RSS reader for Twitter. There were RSS feeds for Twitter back in the day (not sure if they still exist) but they were authenticated, which meant Google Reader didn't take them.

You could, hopefully without *too* much effort, turn Feedly into a simple Twitter client as well. That'd be my ideal Twitter client.

              Hi everyone,

Quick update on adding a Twitter client to feedly: though this is something that used to be possible, Twitter has overtime heavily restricted the access to their API for 3rd party apps and aggregators.

              -Remi

            • implement rules using (keyword) filters to automatically mark articles (read/saved for later/tagged)

this is a two-part feature request. part one is a matching engine, and part two applies to feed actions

              Part 1
              -------
Allows user to create rules to match articles.

The most criteria is using keywords. This can be using the same syntax as (simple) search, or using a more complex pattern matching engine (regex?) for advanced users.

Other examples may be time of article (older than x hours/days), author, matching on specific RSS metadata fields, etc.

              Part 2
              -------
to appy the rules with an (automated) action on matching articles
actions include marking articles as read, or saved for…

              • Give an option to filter duplicate articles (keywords or same title).

Nothing could improve Feedly more than an option to filter duplicate feeds. Dupes can be sorted by keywords (like Tesla) or exact titles (Samsung Releases Curved Phone). This would make the best RSS reader even better!!

                  • Button, in all views, to "add to pocket" without having to open article.

Currently you have to open the article to have the pocket button show up. In the title only view there are other buttons that appear when you hover over the title, I'd like one of those to be for pocket (maybe there can be an option to customize what appears).

Ideally the pocket button would show up in all views, without opening the article. It seems like it would be easier in the magazine and cards views since those have more screen space.

I subscribe to so many feeds that it is important to me to know which ones are really of interest and which ones aren't. Google Reader had a feature called Trends, that told me, among other things:

                      - The top 10/20/40 feeds from which I read and shared stories the most
                      - The top 10/20/40 feeds from which I read and shared stories the most as a percentage of the stories published for that feed.

                        Hi everyone,

Quick update on “Reading Statistics” in feedly: we are currently working on this feature, in the process of designing the specs for what reading statistics could look like.

Feedback from users is very useful in the design process. If you would like to tell us more about the kind of Reading statistics we should build in feedly, please give us your feedback in this survey: http://goo.gl/vV9NyC

                        Best,
                        -Remi

                        • Automatically Mark As Read items older than x hours/days/weeks/etc

Have Feedly automatically Mark As Read articles that are older than x relative date (customizable per feed.) This would prevent a feed that is updated very frequently from getting "overwhelming" if the user skips the feed for a few days.

Every time a new iPhone comes out (or something similar), I end up marking as read dozens of articles about the same thing. Would be nice to try to detect and group articles based on the same story and batch mark as read.

-sorting by date (right now it looks like newest to oldest)

I am a curator of many articles (approximately 2k/day). This would help me tremendously remove duplicate/updates articles in one fell swoop. (example: iOS7 release = 200 articles from Gizmodo alone, not including other tech media outlets.)

                                      Hi there,

On the topic of partial articles: Our stance on this is that we let publishers decide whether to showcase their content via a full feed (ie. full text and multimedia content can be read through a reader app) or a partial feed (ie. only showing limited text, inviting readers to browse full-content directly on their website).

The choice is entirely in their hands, and we don’t want to “scrape” their content.

That being said, we know that partial feeds make for a not-so-great experience, and we want to work closely with publishers to address this, and help them retain engagement and readers in feedly. This is one of our big goals for 2015.

I hope this sheds a bit of light on this subject.
                                      -Remi

                                    • feedly App: Add abbility to disable sharing services (like on the desktop version)

In the desktop version I can disable certain sharing services and only work with the ones I use.
In the Android app I am not able to do that.
I would appreciate the same feature in the app to have a cleaner interface.

                                      • Simplify feed organization

When organizing feeds dragging and dropping individual feeds between categories is a slow process, since each time you drag the source category collapses and you have to open it again to drag another feed out.

Having some kind of dropdown menu for each feed where you can checkbox categories (similar to labels in gmail for example) would be ideal.

Please don't force us to scroll a page at a time, it makes scanning and reading article titles in list view uncomfortable.
